FAQ

About the product

What is the Moisture Mend Stick?
A solid moisturiser in a twist-up stick that you can use on your face and body. Twist, glide and go, with no pump, no spills and no mess.

How big is it?
30g net weight. That’s a full 30g of actual product, weighed and filled by our lab.

How long does one stick last?
With daily use on the face, one stick lasts around 3-4 weeks. If you’re also using it on your body, it’ll go a little faster.

What does it feel like on the skin?
It glides on as a balm and melts into skin, leaving it soft without feeling heavy.

What does it smell like?
A light, fresh blend of organic peppermint, geranium, lavender and chamomile essential oils. We don’t add any synthetic fragrance.

Is it greasy?
It's a rich balm, so a little goes a long way. It's a buildable formula. Our founder likes to dab it onto her face for a lighter layer.

What colour is it? Will it leave a white cast?
The balm is beige in colour and glides on clear.

Ingredients

What are the key ingredients?

Plant-based squalane for lightweight hydration

Bakuchiol, a plant-derived retinol alternative, for smoother, softer-feeling skin

Pomegranate sterols to nourish and cushion skin

Jojoba oil to soften skin

Mango seed butter for extra richness on elbows and knees

Vitamin E to condition skin

Organic peppermint, geranium, lavender and chamomile essential oils for scent

What is bakuchiol?
A plant-derived ingredient often called a natural alternative to retinol. It supports smoother, softer-looking skin, and is generally considered gentler than retinol.

Can I use it with my retinol or other actives?
Yes, you can layer it into your routine. If your skin is sensitive, introduce new products one at a time.

Is it vegan?
Yes, it’s certified by Vegan Australia. If you would like to see our certification, feel free to email us!

Is it cruelty free?
Yes. We never test on animals. Our Moisture Mend Stick is currently being reviewed by Cruelty Free International for certification.

Does it contain silicones, mineral oil, parabens or synthetic fragrance?
No.

Why is there no water in the ingredients?
It’s an anhydrous (water-free) formula, which is what makes it solid.

What are linalool, limonene, geraniol and citronellol?
They occur naturally in the essential oils we use. By law they have to be listed separately, but they’re part of the oils rather than added on their own.

What’s Yuka, and what did you score?
Yuka is an app that rates the ingredients in cosmetics. The Moisture Mend Stick scored 86/100, rated “Excellent.”

Are the ingredients organic?
The ingredients marked with an asterisk (*) on our full list come from organic agriculture.

Do you have the full ingredient list?
Yes, it’s on the product page under “Full Ingredients List.”

How to use it

How do I use it?
Twist up a small amount and glide it over clean skin. Use it as your daily moisturiser, as an overnight mask, or on any dry spot that needs a little extra.

Where can I use it?
Face, body, lips, elbows, knees, hands, cuticles, heels: anywhere that feels dry.

Can I use it around my eyes?
Avoid the eye area.

Can I use it on my lips?
Yes! Our founder uses it as a lip night mask.

Can I use it morning and night?
Yes. In the morning, apply it before your sunscreen. At night, use a slightly thicker layer as an overnight mask.

Does it have SPF?
No. Keep using your sunscreen during the day.

Can I wear it under makeup?
Yes. Apply a thin layer and give it a minute to sink in before your SPF and makeup.

Can I use it on my hair or beard?
Yes, a little smoothed over the ends of your hair or through your beard helps tame flyaways and soften dry hair.

Is it hygienic to use the same stick on my face and body?
Because you twist and glide, your fingers never go into the product the way they do with a jar. If you’d like, keep one stick for your face and one for your body.

Skin types and sensitivities

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
We formulated it with sensitive skin in mind, using a short list of carefully chosen ingredients. Every skin is different, though, so we recommend a patch test before first use.

How do I patch test?
Apply a small amount to your inner arm or behind your ear and wait 24–48 hours. If there’s no redness or irritation, you’re good to go.

Is it good for acne-prone or oily skin?
Because it’s a rich balm, oily or breakout-prone skin may prefer using it at night or just on drier areas.

Can I use it if I have eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis?
We can’t give medical advice. If you have a skin condition, check with your doctor or dermatologist before trying a new product.

Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Bakuchiol is a plant-derived ingredient, not a retinoid. Even so, we always recommend checking with your doctor or midwife before using new skincare during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Can kids use it?
It contains essential oils, so we don’t recommend it for babies or very young children.

What if I have a nut allergy?
Please check the full ingredient list against your allergies, and speak with your doctor if you’re unsure.

Can men use it?
Absolutely. It works for all skin, on face, body, beard, and post-shave.

Can I use it on a new tattoo?
You definitley can! It is great for a gentle moisturiser for healing tattoes. Make sure to always follow your artist's aftercare advice.

Travel and storage

Can I take it on a plane?
Yes. It’s a solid and well under 100ml, so it fits easily into your carry-on.

Will it melt in the heat?
We recommend not keeping it in the sun. It will melt with temperatures over 35 degrees celcius. It may soften in hot cars or on warmer days, but it reforms as a solid balm. You can pop it in the fridge to firm it up as well.

How should I store it?
Somewhere cool and dry with the cap on.

What’s the shelf life?
Unopened, it lasts 1 year. Once opened, use it within a couple months.
